Job description

The Museum Studies Program at theUniversity of New Mexico (UNM) anticipates hiring an Adjunct Faculty member toteach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Spring 2026, Summer 2026,and Fall 2026 Semesters.

Anticipated openings will be for Adjuncts who can teachcourses in a broad range of subject areas, including but not limited to thesubject areas covered in the following UNM courses:

MSST 407/507 Museum Practices
MSST 475/575 Museum Interpretation
MSST 476/576 Museum Collection Management

The Museum Studies Program is seeking qualified temporarypart time faculty members to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level classesin various disciplines as specified above. Instructors are responsible for allaspects of any class they are teaching. Responsibilities will include but not belimited to meeting with the class during assigned times, delivering the coursecurriculum, developing and grading assignments, reporting grades, and assessingstudent learning outcomes as outlined by the Director of the Program.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester asdetermined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current course schedule,and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled oreliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or addcourses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Directorof the Museum Studies Program.
