Description & Requirements
Maximus is seeking a Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC) to support suicide prevention programming, reporting, and initiatives for active-duty members assigned to Special Operations Forces (SOF). The SPC serves as a licensed clinical social work professional and subject matter expert responsible for coordinating prevention and postvention efforts, supporting component-level policies and procedures, and promoting evidence-based practices that strengthen resilience, protective factors, and system response. This position may also provide clinical care when directed by the gaining unit and when the SPC role does not require a full-time equivalent.
U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.
This position is pending upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of employees through cultivation of a high performance team.
- Ensure adequate staff coverage for assigned program area.
- Serve as subject matter expert for identified area of program knowledge.
- Ensure assigned team is meeting contract and individual SLA's, and related requirements.
- Work with contract management and shared services to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
- May attend client and stakeholder meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
-Serve as the Component-level subject matter expert and advisor on suicide prevention policy, programming, and practices.
-Review applied research and incorporate best practices into suicide prevention policy, programming, and initiatives across the Component.
-Support the development of Component-level policies and procedures for suicide prevention consistent with applicable SOCOM directives.
-Monitor compliance with suicide prevention requirements and coordinate Component suicide prevention programs and activities with HQ USSOCOM POTFF and the respective military services.
-Integrate and support suicide prevention practices into component and unit training, family programs, spiritual programs, and other activities, as appropriate.
-Support the development of a Component-level human factors council to review, plan, and implement interventions for individuals identified as at risk.
-Ensure best practices are followed and implemented across the Component and that reporting requirements are met accurately and within required timeframes.
-Participate in multidisciplinary teams and review boards, as needed, to support suicide prevention and postvention.
-Enhance prevention and postvention efforts, strengthen system response, and build community capacity to increase protective factors across the Component.
-Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours, including POTFF Enterprise meetings, quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, commander's staff meetings, and other meetings required by applicable regulations or as directed by the unit Commander or designee.
-Support assigned taskers and projects related to suicide prevention.
-When assigned clinical responsibilities, apply social work procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidence-based therapy, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
-Provide individual, family, group, and couples therapy, as appropriate; support alcohol and drug treatment evaluations; and perform case management functions.
-Contact referred clients to assess treatment adherence, use validated symptom inventories to assess symptom severity, identify -barriers to treatment adherence, and help clients develop solutions.
-Provide education to clients regarding mental health conditions and treatment regimens.
-Maintain client information in a client registry and document accurate, current notes in the electronic medical record for all contacted clients.
-Routinely staff difficult cases with the referring provider, behavioral health consultant, and/or psychiatry consultant.
-Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts, as required.
-Participate in military-specific training and activities, including security clearances; use of DoD or service-specific clinical practice guidelines; pre- and post-deployment screening; PTSD and combat stress training; and other activities as directed.
-Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees, as applicable
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of two years of related experience.
- Current LCSW or LMSW with license valid in the state of practice is required.
- Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent degree, such as MSSW or MSSA, from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Minimum of two (2) years of peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of professional standards and ethics related to the delivery of clinical social work services.
- Experience providing brief behavioral interventions.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in a government setting, such as the Department of Defense or a Veterans Affairs Medical Treatment Facility.
- Experience supporting military populations, SOF communities, suicide prevention programs, or multidisciplinary behavioral health teams.
- Familiarity with DoD or service-specific clinical practice guidelines, deployment-related screening processes, PTSD, and combat stress training
