Sugar Hollow Solar is hiring an Energy Consultant! The Energy Consultant plays a vital role in helping Sugar Hollow Solar's residential customers transition to clean, renewable energy by providing personalized solar solutions tailored to meet their needs. The role is responsible for taking a customer-focused, educational approach to selling by building trust through in-depth consultations, explaining the financial and environmental benefits of solar and guiding customers through every step of the decision-making process.


Our ideal candidate brings exceptional consultative sales capabilities, customer relationship skills with strong customer centric service orientation, has a track record of negotiating contracts and closing deals and believes in the power of renewable energy!


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drives the Sugar Hollow Solar sales process from initial contact to contract signing creating and maintaining trust and transparency throughout the sales process and meeting or exceeding sales goals consistently
  • Conducts thorough in-home consultations to understand each customer's energy needs, financial goals and property characteristics utilizing tailored solar solutions proposals
  • Cleary communicates and explains solar technology for the home, financial incentives of making the transition and options for financing
  • Proactively self-generates leads through community engagement, referrals, social media and Sugar Hollow Solar events
  • Promptly follows up with both self-generated and company-generated leads to schedule consultations, assess customer needs and guide prospects through the solar evaluation and sales process
  • Assists in assessing customer eligibility, energy usage, roof condition and financial fit to ensure qualified sales and happy customers
  • Maintains accurate records in our CRM, nurturing client relationships for future referrals and upsells
  • Stays informed about industry trends, local utility policies and incentives


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in residential sales, solar, home improvement or energy sector with a track record of achieving sales targets preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Studies or related field preferred


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional ability to identify customer needs and present customized solutions by translating technical solar concepts into simple, easy to understand and customer friendly language
  • Strong ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse group of customers
  • Adaptable to changing customer needs, utility policies and incentive programs
  • Willing and able to collaborate effectively with internal teams
  • Familiarity and some understanding of solar technology and residential energy systems
  • Awareness of financing models

Rate: $32k Base/YR + Commission + Bonus
