Job description

Purpose
The operations technician's role is to work within a Team to operate an assigned area of responsibility in the plant to safely meet the production requirements of their assigned shift and contribute to the development of the operation of the team as a unit.
Scope
This job description applies to eligible, full-time exempt employees of Louisiana Sugar Refining, LLC. Employees are responsible for the food safety and quality of the product.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Operate and inspect front end loaders
โ€ข Supply the refinery with Raw Sugar as needed
โ€ข Operate, clean and inspect the slingers
โ€ข Collection of Raw Sugar samples and correctly allocating the sugar
โ€ข Cleaning and operating of sugar transfer systems
โ€ข Washing and greasing front end loaders
โ€ข Following all LSR safety, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements in and around the Raw Sugar Warehouse
โ€ข Trouble shooting issues in the area and getting them addressed timely
Skills and Abilities
โ€ข Prioritizes work to be completed
โ€ข Learning multiple skills (skill blocks) and rotating through those blocks to maintain proficiency
โ€ข Organize and express information in a systematic and logical way
โ€ข Understand and carryout written and oral instructions and procedures
โ€ข Work shifts of 12 hours and overtime as required with reliable attendance
โ€ข Apply logical thinking to solve routine and non-routine problems
