Job description

Position Description: Have you been considering going into social work, womens services or working for a non-profit? House of Hope, established in 1946, specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders and family reunification for women and children (ages birth to eight) is seeking mature, self-motivated, nurturing women to mentor mothers as a Group Specialist. This position is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy the challenge and growth from working closely with groups of people who are trying to make positive life changes. House of Hope has a dynamic team of clinicians and support staff dedicated to helping families overcome addiction and is the oldest substance abuse program in Utah. Clinical supervision, curriculum, and training provided.

Conduct groups for women in substance use disorder treatment (residential and outpatient) on topics concerning recovery from addiction, such as relapse prevention, healthy pro-social behaviors, relationship enhancement, conflict resolution and other social, emotional, and mental health topics pivotal to stabilization and recovery. Actively and creatively facilitate group topics to motivate women to gain insight into negative behavior patterns and self-defeating actions and then to acquire new behavioral and cognitive skills to promote positive change.
We are looking for someone with:
Current or is working towards social service (SSW) license or substance abuse license (SUDC, CSUDC, ASUDC).
Can engage with women from diverse backgrounds with empathy and various learning styles. Has a basic understanding of human behavior, addiction, group dynamics, and womens issues. Has assertive communication skills and great with stress management. Must have a four-year degree.
Additional Information: Wage: $14-16 per hour based on experience. 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available.
Hours: Part-time, up to 28 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with mandatory training on the second Monday of each month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Job Advertisement: $14 - $16
