Do you love bringing music, movement, and joy to others? Are you the type who can turn a simple warm-up into a moment of magic? If so, we'd love to have you join our team as a Dance/Tumbling Instructor with the Park District!

We're looking for someone who can lead, inspire, and guide participants of all ages as they learn new skills, build confidence, and have a blast in our dance programs.


Thursday and/or Friday evenings with ability to substitute through the week. 


Hourly rate  $17.00/hr


The Instructor will lead, instruct, guide and monitor progress of participants in the dance programs offered thru the park district.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates in the creation of programs under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor.

Responsible for teaching programs; ensuring that proper skills and technique are demonstrated and instructed to all participants.

Responsible for preparing lesson plans, selecting music and activities to meet the class program objectives.

Capable of adjusting instructional method and music to participants based upon age category, ensuring positive approach and experience.

Use appropriate classroom management skills to maintain control of the class.

Utilize good time management skill to ensure schedule is maintained and class times are adhered to.

Assist in the planning and execution of dance performances, recitals and special events as part of the program curriculum.

Serve in a professional manner with the highest regard for customer service delivery.

Maintains knowledge of park district policies, procedures, and guidelines and acts in accordance.

Performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District's safety program.

Performs any additional related tasks as required.

Requirements

Minimum 4 yrs. practical classroom dance experience, preferred.

Minimum 2 yrs. practical dance program instructor experience, preferred.

Minimum 16 years of age or older.

Strong knowledge of dance programming, technique and skills; ability to demonstrate and communicate.

C.P.R. and A.E.D. certified required; ability to certify at time of hire.

Ability to demonstrate skills and techniques used in dance choreography and instruction.

Ability to communicate with and instruct youth.

Must be able to function independently possessing a high degree of self-motivation and self-direction.

Ability to make correct and safe judgments, exhibit good problem solving skills adhering to Park District policy and procedure.
