Dance Instructor – Hip Hop Mindset


Location: School sites throughout Ventura County, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM

About Hip Hop Mindset

Hip Hop Mindset is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced Dance Instructors to join our after-school programs at school sites throughout Ventura County!


Our primary dance style is Hip Hop, but we are also looking for instructors with experience in Jazz and other dance styles who love working with children and creating a fun, positive environment.


What You'll Do

  • Teach engaging dance classes to students in grades K–8th.
  • Lead each class with a short warm-up and stretch.
  • Teach beginner-friendly dance combinations and choreography.
  • Encourage students to practice, build confidence, and perform for one another.
  • Incorporate fun dance games and activities into each class.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and energetic classroom environment.
  • Assist with student sign-in and dismissal as part of the after-school program.
  • Support other program responsibilities as needed.
  • Depending on the school site, help prepare students for Fall and Winter dance showcases.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience teaching dance and working with children.
  • Experience in Hip Hop, Jazz, or another dance style.
  • Comfortable teaching beginner-level students.
  • Energetic, patient, reliable, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to manage and engage a group of elementary and/or middle school students.
  • Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
  • Passion for dance and helping children develop confidence through movement.


Schedule

We offer flexible part-time schedules, with instructors working a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 5 days per week.


Shifts vary depending on the school site and generally fall between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Since launching our program, we have proudly worked with thousands of students across Ventura County, partnering with schools in the Rio, Oxnard, Hueneme, Ocean View, and Ventura school districts. Our goal is to create a fun, positive, and encouraging environment where students can build confidence, express themselves, and develop a love for dance.
