RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is seeking a Substation Solutions Technical Sales Manager in Orlando, FL.
A Snapshot of Your Day:
Join our team as a Substation Solutions Technical Sales Manager and lead business development for our high-voltage substation EPC portfolio. As the primary technical authority, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry stakeholders to deliver custom solutions for major capital projects valued from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars. In this role, you will analyze complex customer specifications, craft compelling technical presentations, and autonomously steer complex sales cycles from initial engagement through multi-million-dollar contract negotiations. By building long-term relationships with key client accounts and leveraging industry expertise, you will play a central role in shaping the future of grid infrastructure and advancing power industry innovation.
How You'll Make an Impact:
* Serve as the primary technical sales expert for substation solutions, acting as the interface between customers and internal teams
* Analyze customer technical specifications to design and propose complex substation solutions tailored to their needs
* Prepare and conduct high-impact technical sales presentations for customers and company representatives
* Manage the technical aspects of large sales projects and bid processes with a high degree of autonomy
* Collaborate with proposal, contract, and legal teams to ensure the integrity of submitted bids
* Lead sales negotiations for multi-million-dollar projects while developing and implementing strategies for contractual setups
* Contribute to a company culture focused on excellence in execution
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field required
* 10 or more years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or a related role within the power transmission and distribution industry; Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level, and vice versa
* Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in managing large, complex technical sales opportunities or project execution a plus
* Strong knowledge of substation design and products, with GIS knowledge preferred
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills across all levels of customer organizations
* A solution-oriented mindset and a great attitude
Travel, as needed (~30%)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
