Summary / Objective:
This team provides support in the areas of Administration, Program Management, Engineering, and Logistics Programs associated with life cycle maintenance, modernization, and modification of Naval ships, unique platforms, new construction units and support facilities for Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP), an independent field activity of the Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA) Command that is aligned under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN).
SUBMEPP's mission is to keep assigned Naval ships and submersibles safe, reliable, and affordable through use of its engineered life cycle maintenance and modernization products and services. SUBMEPP performs technical duties and responsibilities to provide and maintain engineered life cycle maintenance products in direct support of the Fleet, shipyards, industrial facilities, and NAVSEA.
General Duties or Experience:
Review engineering and technical documentation to ensure compliance with established standards, technical accuracy, and adequacy for functional, operational, and maintenance requirements. Utilize Windchill to prepare and manage updates for Maintenance Standards (MSs), ensuring proper configuration control. Perform engineering analysis, reviews, and studies to provide recommendations on the development, interoperability, integration, and use of MSs during submarine system, subsystem, and equipment maintenance. Review, analyze, maintain, and validate changes to technical submarine maintenance documentation to support lifecycle sustainment. Provide administrative support for program activities, including organizing meetings and preparing or maintaining historical files.

  • Review Engineering and technical documentation to determine compliance with engineering standards, technical accuracy, and adequacy in relation to functional, operational, and technical requirements.

  • Work within Windchill to prepare and manage updates for MSs.

  • Perform engineering analysis, reviews, studies and provide recommendations related to the development, interoperability, integration, operations, and use of MSs during submarine system, subsystem, equipment maintenance.

  • Review, analyze, maintain, draft, validate changes to technical submarine maintenance documentation.

  • Provide administrative functions for program efforts in special situations including, but not limited to meetings, and preparing/maintaining history files.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • Familiarity with Maintenance Standards (MSs) and submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems is a plus.

Competencies:
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

  • Proficient with Adobe Pro and the manipulation of PDFs.

  • Familiar with AutoCAD and how to use the application for work within drawings and diagrams.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:
• An active or current DoD Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Security Clearance and required access to all worksite locations. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.
