Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Senior Subcontracts Coordinator to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Senior Subcontracts Coordinator will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement, specifically within the technical commodities industry-valves, pumps, vessels, structural steel, piping, and other water treatment equipment. This candidate will have savvy negotiation skills, be highly organized, be a relationship builder, be customer service-driven, and be a team player.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree - (Supply Chain Management or Engineering).
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in purchasing (procurement) of technical commodities.
  • Three (3) or more years experience with international purchasing.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience with SAP, is preferred.

Job Description:
  • Finalize orders with Subcontractors and Manage the Subcontractors until project completion (negotiate terms and conditions, field service rates, spare parts, shipping terms, deliverables schedule; then manage the document deliverables, free issue material, material/equipment deliverables, approve milestone invoices and document all correspondence with Subcontractor).
  • Purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems promptly.
  • Reviews purchase requisition packages.
  • Prepares bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Prepares purchase orders.
  • Receives and contacts vendors to find out the status of an order.
  • Contacts vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality.
  • Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems with purchased items.
  • Data entry of all purchase orders.
  • Copies data and compiles records and reports.
  • Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
  • Traveling when needed to meet project requirements.

Skill Requirements:
  • Ability to get quotations from vendors & review them.
  • Ability to negotiate supplier prices, delivery terms,s, and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the assembly shop and follow,w up on partial deliveries.
  • Ability to maintain project-specific procurement reports.
  • Ability to handle nonconformances with our Quality department.
  • Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
  • Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
