Summary of Position

The Material Planner will report to the Production Planning Leader and will be an integral part of our Supply Chain Team working daily with our Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance Teams. In this position, the Material Planner will support 4 manufacturing sites and be responsible for the planning and purchasing of all parts, tools, and other materials, integral to maintain those facilities production. As a critical part of the Supply Chain Team, the Material Planner will work closely with Procurement on supplier management and with Finance on inventory management.

This position requires 20% travel. The candidate will be required to work at an onsite office.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with key stakeholders, creating and issuing purchase orders on all equipment and inventory related items. Managing material stocking levels (PFEP - Plan for Every Part) and strategies, accounting for economic and other risks to supply chain, to maximize days inventory on-hand and reduce technical / financial obsolescence.

Conduct and lead annual and quarterly inventory. Manage expense material to optimize spending.

Participate in daily production meetings (S&OP), and other production related rhythms reporting out on days on hand, in transit, open and past due PO's.

Expedite suppliers and redeploy material as needed to meet production needs.

Monitor the in-and-out movement of equipment from various manufacturing sites and assist in all aspects of completing equipment for deployment to field.

Monitor customer performance on deliveries and other contractual related KPI's, working with supplier and Procurement to improve performance.

Track price changes, updating existing purchase orders to ensure compliance with contracts and pricing agreed upon.

Identify process improvement areas and digitization efforts (PowerBI). Work cross-functionally with Procurement and Finance on identifying cost out opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, finance, or supply chain.

3+ years of experience in procurement, planning, or inventory management.

Broad understanding of Supply Chain concepts, such as demand planning, buying, inventor management, and S&OP.

Critical thinking skills with ability to independently mine, transform, and analyze large amounts of data using various systems and data analytics tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with using various ERP / MRP systems (JDE, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Ability to travel domestically ~20% of the time.

Desired Skills

Procurement certifications, such as: CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM.

Experience and understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Knowledge of big data, working in Power BI, and ability digitize KPI's.

Business acumen with ability to translate results to balance sheet.

Experience in infrastructure construction, manufacturing, and/or subcontracting.

Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
