Position Overview

The Quality Technician will perform and document various inspections during all phases of installation and upfit. This includes, but not limited to, receiving chassis inspection, receiving body inspection, sub-assembly weld inspections, electrical wiring inspections, and final installation inspections, using documented specifications and drawings.


Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing all work functions with a focus on Safety for self and all others.

• Performing in depth, and thorough inspections, using check sheets, drawings, wiring schematics, and documented specifications, during all phases of installation. These inspections will be documented and filed per ISO 9001 requirements.

• Light duty repairs and touchups on defects found during the inspection process.

• Documenting and processing quality documentation.

• Creating and maintaining tracking spreadsheets.

• Looking up drawings and build specifications in the company network data bases.

• Light duty cleaning of workspace at all times.

• Performing root cause analysis to address any corrective actions issued to the install department.

• Performing any assistance that is needed in the Install and Parts department when requested.


Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Quality Technician or Inspector, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty truck industry

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions

• Must be able to read Engineering drawings and electrical schematics

• Ability to use basic tools for minor repairs and adjustments

• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as in situations that are unsupervised

• Ability to work any shift as required by the needs of the Company

• Excellent communications skills

• Efficient in all Office applications

• Must have a proven track record in attendance

• Must be able to take direction from Supervisor

• Ability to work in an uncontrolled environment

• Must be willing to accept any task requested by supervisor
