Sub Investigator Remote Jobs in Indiana (NOW HIRING)

Sub Investigator Remote information

What is a sub investigator in a remote clinical trial setting?

A Sub Investigator in a remote clinical trial is a medical professional who assists the Principal Investigator in conducting research studies, but works primarily from a remote location. They are responsible for ensuring protocol compliance, monitoring patient safety, collecting and reviewing data, and communicating with the study team. Remote Sub Investigators use digital tools and telemedicine platforms to oversee patient progress and maintain study integrity from a distance. This role is essential for decentralized trials, where patient visits and data collection occur outside traditional clinical sites.

How does a remote sub investigator effectively coordinate with on-site clinical trial teams?

A remote Sub Investigator typically collaborates with on-site clinical trial teams through regular virtual meetings, electronic data capture systems, and timely digital communication. Clear documentation, adherence to protocols, and proactive engagement are essential to ensure all study activities are conducted accurately and safely. Remote Sub Investigators often rely on strong organizational skills and the ability to foster trust with site coordinators and principal investigators to address challenges promptly. This collaborative approach helps maintain trial quality and regulatory compliance despite the physical distance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sub investigator remote, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sub Investigator (Remote), you need a strong background in clinical research, medical or scientific education (often an MD, DO, or PhD), and experience with regulatory compliance and study protocols. Familiarity with electronic data capture (EDC) systems, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification, and remote monitoring tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and organizational skills help ensure data integrity and collaboration with study teams. These skills are crucial for ensuring accurate study conduct, regulatory adherence, and successful remote trial management.

What is the difference between Sub Investigator Remote vs Clinical Research Associate?

Industry UsageUsed in clinical trial oversight, especially in investigator-led studiesCommonly employed by CROs and pharmaceutical companies for site monitoring

While both roles are involved in clinical trials, a Sub Investigator Remote primarily supports trial oversight remotely, often with medical expertise, whereas a Clinical Research Associate typically conducts site monitoring and ensures compliance at trial sites. The roles overlap in industry and credentials but differ in work environment and specific responsibilities.

This person will be responsible for growing the Federal Business Group at American Structurepoint. This is a high-impact, externally focused position built around winning architectural and/or engineering project work within federal agencies. This person will support federal practice pursuits and efforts, including supporting strategic efforts of a diverse team of specialized technical leaders.

This is an opportunity with direct influence over the firm's federal strategic plan, investment priorities, market positioning, and long-term growth objectives.

The selected candidate will drive agency engagement, IDIQ/MATOC positioning, and capture excellence - while also expanding the firm's relationships with prime general contractors to secure increased Designer of Record (DOR) roles on federal design/build projects.

This is not a maintenance role - it is a build-and-scale opportunity within a financially strong, well-established A/E firm committed to expanding its federal footprint.

Responsibilities

Federal Strategic Planning

  • Partner with executive leadership and others to develop and execute a federal strategic growth plan.
  • Identify priority agencies, contract vehicles, and geographic markets aligned with firm capabilities.

  • Establish measurable growth targets for federal sales, contract vehicles, and strategic accounts.

DoD & Federal Civilian Growth Strategy

  • Develop formal agency account plans targeting DoD and select civilian agencies.
  • Identify and prioritize IDIQ, MATOC, SATOC, and standalone contract opportunities.
  • Position the firm early in the acquisition lifecycle to enhance win probability.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and competitive insights to leadership.

Design/Build & Prime Contractor Engagement

  • Develop and expand strategic relationships with prime general contractors pursuing federal design/build projects.
  • Position the firm to secure increased Designer of Record (DOR) roles on federal design/build pursuits.
  • Identify high-performing federal primes and cultivate long-term teaming alignment.
  • Collaborate internally to align technical capabilities with design/build market expectations.

Capture Planning & Opportunity Execution

  • Support disciplined capture planning efforts, including stakeholder mapping, win strategy development, and competitive positioning.
  • Drive structured go/no-go decisions aligned with long-term federal strategy.
  • Ensure capture strategy translates into compelling, compliant proposals.
  • Participate in executive-level pursuit reviews and pricing strategy discussions.

Strategic Teaming & Partnerships

    • Strategic sub-consulting agreements

Relationship Management & Market Presence

  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships within DoD and federal civilian agencies.
  • Engage contracting officers, program managers, small business offices, and program stakeholders.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, pre-proposal conferences, and agency briefings.
  • Increase the firm's visibility and credibility within priority federal markets.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive federal business development experience within the A/E industry.
  • Demonstrated success securing A/E IDIQ/MATOC contract awards.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing capture strategies resulting in contract wins.
  • Experience expanding A/E participation in federal design/build projects.
  • Established relationships with DoD, federal civilian agencies, and/or federal prime contractors.
  • Deep understanding of FAR/DFARS and federal acquisition lifecycle.
