In the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System this class is accountable for educating students in academic and trade coursework.\r\n

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n\r\n Professional experiences related to the field of teaching Social Studies.\r\n 21st century standards-based lesson planning aligned to the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies and the CT Core Standards in History/Social Studies.\r\n Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.\r\n Ability to foster and facilitate learning and classroom management.\r\n Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.\r\n Effective, active listening skills.\r\n Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.\r\n Organizational and problem solving skills.\r\n Excellent public relations skills.\r\n Entry-level computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Products.\r\n Preferred candidates will have experience in teaching or substitute teaching and be able to demonstrate varied methods of lesson delivery, assessing student knowledge, and the use of educational technology. This may include involvement in student/community activities.\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Incumbents must possess at time of appointment a valid certificate issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education in accordance with the Certification Regulations Concerning State Educator Certificates, Permits and Authorizations, with a secondary school endorsement.\r\n
