Monitor Assistant - Study Hall

Monitor Assistant (Study Hall) - Hourly Rate: $14.24/hr (subject to change pending board approval) (Study Hall monitors only work at the middle school and high school levels) Classified Substitute training is required for all new classified substitutes. Classified positions are paid hourly rates (depending on the position) and include:

Registered Nurse Special Needs Assistant - Instructional Teacher Assistant IMC (Library) Technician Skills Lab Technician Monitor Assistant - Study Hall Monitor Assistant - Lunchroom

We will hold all Substitute Teacher Training sessions at 4029 Executive Drive, Beavercreek OH 45430. We also require that you bring the following to the training: Driver's License Social Security Card Substitute/Teacher License (if currently issued) Original Transcripts (Electronic) of Bachelor's Degree $47.25 fee (credit card preferred) for fingerprinting (previous fingerprint records cannot be accepted due to administrative guidelines)

Job Description

Title: Monitor Assistant - Study Hall File 516

Reports To: Principal

Job Objectives: Supervises students during study periods.

Minimum ยท High school diploma and Educational Aide Permit

Qualifications: ยท Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.). Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.

  • Determines seat assignments. Takes attendance. Enforces study hall rules. Prohibits the use of recreational items and the consumption of food and beverages.
  • Prohibits other students from loitering near the room entrance.
  • Upholds board policies and follows administrative procedures.
  • Promotes a favorable image of the school district.
  • Maintains high standards for student conduct. Upholds the student conduct code. Keeps the principal informed about persistent behavior problems.
  • Promotes the proper use of school property. Controls student access to lockers, toilet rooms, etc.
  • Authenticates student requests to go to the library, guidance office, meet with teachers, etc. Keeps track of the location of each student assigned to the study hall.
  • Ensures that students have books and classroom assignments. Maintains a positive learning environment. Helps students with questions.
  • Communicates high expectations and shows an active interest in student progress.
  • Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time.
  • Strives to develop rapport with others. Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Takes precautions to ensure student safety. Does not leave students unsupervised.
  • Accepts responsibility for personal decisions and conduct. Serves as a positive role model for others.
  • Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
