Job description

Job Title: Part-Time Clinical Research Cardiologist
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Schedule: Part-Time (0-8 hours/week)
Start Date: Within 0-6 months

About the Role

We are seeking a board-certified Cardiologist to join as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) in Phase I-IV clinical trials. This role involves providing medical oversight, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to the success of cardiology-focused and multi-therapeutic studies in compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as PI or Sub-I for cardiology and multi-therapeutic clinical trials.

  • Conduct medical screenings, cardiology assessments, and physical examinations for study participants.

  • Provide ongoing clinical oversight and ensure adherence to study protocols and patient safety requirements.

  • Collaborate with study coordinators, nurses, and research staff to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.

  • Document patient interactions, adverse events (AEs/SAEs), and maintain compliance within EHR/EDC systems.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sponsors, CROs, monitors, and IRBs.

  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and audits.

  • Contribute to feasibility reviews, study design input, and recruitment strategies.

  • Attend investigator meetings and provide cardiology-specific medical expertise.

  • Stay current with clinical research regulations and advancements in cardiology and investigational therapies.

Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. with an active, unrestricted Arizona medical license.

  • Board certification in Cardiology required.

  • Valid DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification.

  • Prior clinical research/clinical trial experience preferred (training available for motivated candidates).

  • Proficiency with EHR systems, clinical documentation, and clinical trial platforms (EDC, CTMS).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.
