Job description

Systems Administrator II – Applications & Automation

Salary: $121,000 annually
Schedule: Hybrid – Monday and Tuesday in office; Wednesday through Friday remote

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator II to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise software applications and automation solutions. This hands-on position will work closely with internal departments to troubleshoot application issues, improve existing systems, develop customized solutions, and identify opportunities to streamline business processes.

The ideal candidate must have scripting and programming experience using Visual Basic/VB.NET and/or SQL queries. Experience with UiPath, robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence, or machine learning is a significant plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance business applications and software platforms.
  • Develop scripts, SQL queries, reports, customized applications, and system integrations.
  • Identify manual processes that can be improved through automation, AI, or workflow solutions.
  • Install software releases, upgrades, enhancements, and customized system changes.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate application needs and high-value automation opportunities.
  • Test and debug system modifications, upgrades, and new implementations.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal users.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system changes, testing procedures, installations, and fixes.
  • Coordinate with software vendors and outside technical support when needed.
  • Manage assigned application-development and systems projects from planning through implementation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Eight to ten years of relevant IT systems or application-support experience.
  • Scripting or programming experience using Visual Basic/VB.NET and/or SQL queries.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases and SQL Reporting Services.
  • Experience developing or maintaining applications using Microsoft .NET.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, preferably Visual Studio 2022.
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications, test system changes, and produce accurate technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable managing projects independently.


Preferred Experience

  • UiPath or other robotic process automation platforms.
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning, or workflow automation.
  • VMware environments.
  • LAN and WAN environments.
  • HTML and CSS development.
  • Oracle databases.
  • MOVEit Central, MOVEit Transfer, or similar secure file-transfer platforms.
  • Financial services software or industry experience.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with the installation or movement of equipment, furniture, and cabling as needed.
