Job description

The Supervising Producer is a critical creative leader responsible for developing, producing, and shooting a wide range of content in partnership with the university. This role is expected to be actively involved in hands-on production, including shooting and directing branded content. Leveraging deep industry experience, this role oversees multiple content executions, spanning NIL, original programming, and branded content, that fuel fan engagement, elevate student-athlete storytelling, and unlock revenue opportunities for our local and national Learfield sales teams.
Working closely with the centralized Learfield Studios team, the Supervising Producer leads the local content team and is the primary on-campus representative. They collaborate closely with the athletic department, school production teams, student-athletes, and local staff to ideate, create, and deliver a robust and innovative content slate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce, write, direct, and shoot narrative and serialized Learfield Studios content at the university.
  • Serve as the creative lead and supervising producer for all active projects.
  • Lead the development and production of NIL, original, and branded episodic video content to grow fan engagement and drive revenue for our local and national sponsorship sales teams.
  • Oversee the full Learfield Studios content operation at the university, including creative, production, distribution, analytics, content strategy, and sales integration.
  • Build trust-driven relationships with student-athletes and guide them through all original, branded, and NIL content initiatives.
  • Partner with the athletic department, local property team, and sponsors to create custom NIL content aligned with stakeholder voice, tone, and brand guidelines.
  • Shape and continuously refine NIL content best practices across creative, production, distribution, and student-athlete communication.
  • Advise on content strategy that supports athletics priorities, increases engagement, and drives local and national revenue.
  • Manage the on-site content producer, specialist, and additional production resources; delegate effectively to maximize team output.
  • Use data, trends, and creative insight to develop year-round Learfield Studios content strategy and proactive content calendars.
  • Pitch, ideate, and execute NIL and branded video series for sales teams; participate in client presentations and productions.
  • Ensure the highest-quality content delivery within established budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet all agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Develop research, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, and analysis plans for all proactive and reactive content series.
  • Optimize content distribution and promotional strategies using data as a key creative input.
  • Maintain strong communication with Athletics, SIDs, coaches, and athletic administrators to align content with departmental priorities.
  • Manage pre-sale content presentations, including projected performance, distribution plans, and creative overviews.
  • Track performance of all campaigns and create comprehensive recaps for partners, sales teams, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in sports or entertainment creating, writing, producing, and directing video content with 1+ year leading and managing a team.
  • Hands-on experience shooting and directing video.
  • Must provide a reel, portfolio, or website demonstrating hands-on shooting and directing experience.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate creative concepts to executive leadership.
  • Passionate storyteller with extensive experience driving audience engagement.
  • Proven experience in sports and/or entertainment environments.
  • Ability to independently own projects and serve as primary contact for external partners.
  • Background in digital, short-form, social, and influencer-driven content; narrative storytelling experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple team members across varied projects.
  • Deep understanding of content production pipelines end-to-end.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production equipment, lighting, cameras/lenses, audio, and post-production workflows.
  • Ability to write pitch materials, craft pre-production plans, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong creative ideation skills aligned to project and brand objectives.
  • Ability to interpret creative concepts and guide execution with clarity and vision.
