Job Summary
The sales associate is a passionate individual who seeks to help members and guests improve their lives through health and fitness. This person is responsible for handling day-to-day tasks, welcoming guests and members to the gym, selling memberships and retail items, giving tours of the club, cleaning and being a team player. This role requires a considerable amount of self-motivation, the ability to collaborate and communicate with members and staff, and the ability to influence others in a positive way.
Responsibilities
Membership sales
and retention
  • Being able to qualify, inform, inspire, and convert leads to members.
  • Giving knowledgeable tours of the club to potential members, highlighting the advantages and benefits of an Anytime Fitness membership.
  • Understanding the policies and procedures of the membership agreement in order to help new members sign up.
  • Be knowledgeable of the personal training and classes being offered in order to serve our members better.
  • Assisting existing members with billing changes, questions or issues. This can be in person, over the phone and email.
  • Engage with members and guest each time they enter and leave the club.
  • Work with owner/manager on social media and marketing content and presentations.

Day-to-day operations
  • Maintaining a clean club environment. Including: restocking and cleaning/disinfecting bathrooms, machines, vacuuming and mopping daily.
  • Understanding, selling and maintaining inventory of merchandise and supplements.
  • Working with owner/manager to understand any changes or new tasks that need to be accomplished.

Qualifications
  • Experience in the fitness industry is not required, but great communication and soft skills are. A good candidate for the sales associate position is:
  • 18 years or older
  • Friendly, outgoing, and warm
  • Genuine and honest
  • Available to work flexible hours [mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends]
  • Technologically savvy
  • Self-motivated
