Responsibilities
  • Design unfunded studies.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Assist in the development and day to day operation of a research assistant program.
  • Administer survey studies and perform chart reviews along with physicians, students and research assistants.
  • Supervision of pre-med and medical students, residents and postdoctoral candidates in the performance of research activities.
  • Assist in the development and day to day operation of a pipeline research program for pre- medical, medical and pharmacy/ allied health students.
  • Create first drafts of IRB protocols, grant proposals, and grant reports.
  • Prepare budgets and complete financial reports.
  • Write abstracts for submission to regional, national and international meetings.
  • Design slides for regional, national and international research presentations; Participate in manuscript writing.
  • Participate in, lead, and keep minutes on weekly research team meetings.
  • Meet with the Vice Chair for a Weekly Research Update Meeting, and as needed.
  • Prepare agendas for meetings.
  • Assist Vice Chair with scheduling and day to day operation Of the Vice Chair's Office.
  • Occasionally required to work evenings and/or weekends to accommodate DEM, university and national society events and deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel a few times a year to present research and/or to support the research team at national and regional emergency medicine meetings -Such travel will be compensated.
  • Authorship will be granted commensurate with involvement in the project.
  • Fluency in SAS, STATA, Google Survey, Survey Monkey. Redcap, Excel and intermediate level biostatistical skills for data analysis.
  • Have excellent spoken and written communication and organizational skills.
  • A self-directed and independent worker.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Public Health and 7 years of related experience. Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
