Burris Laboratory School is seeking a Temporary Attendance Secretary to support the daily operations of the school's front office. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors while managing student attendance, assisting with front office operations, and contributing to a safe and supportive school environment. The ideal candidate is organized, customer service-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional support to the Burris community.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Temporary Attendance Secretary - Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as one of the first points of contact for families, students, staff, and visitors by answering phones, greeting walk-in guests, responding to general inquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate person or office.
  • Sign visitors into the Raptor Visitor Management System, ensuring established visitor procedures are followed to support student and staff safety.
  • Monitor daily student attendance through PowerSchool, identify attendance discrepancies, and communicate missing student information to the leadership team in a timely manner.
  • Generate daily attendance and student information reports for the Assistant Principal and maintain accurate spreadsheets related to student attendance and other office records.
  • Provide dependable administrative support to the front office by assisting with a variety of clerical and organizational tasks as needed to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Demonstrate exceptional reliability and punctuality, recognizing that consistent attendance is essential to maintaining effective office operations and customer service.
  • Collaborate effectively with office staff, administrators, and faculty while maintaining a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and school information in accordance with school policies and applicable privacy regulations.
