Radiologic Technologist Student

Newport News, Virginia

Hiring Range: $23.00 - $29.90/Hourly

Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Overview: The Radiologic Technologist Student performs all diagnostic procedures with the knowledge of all pertinent and academic areas to produce consistent, high-quality exams. The Radiologic Technologist Student works effectively with patients and physicians and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality as a Student Technologist. Works under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.

What You Will Do:

  • Assists radiologists in performing radiologic imaging procedures. Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
  • Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.
  • Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
  • Detail oriented ability to multi-task organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Actively enrolled in or recent grad of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved accredited school/program (Required)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
