Job description

Role Summary: We are seeking a creative, user-focused Web Designer to help shape and improve the digital experience across our web properties. This individual will play a key role in designing engaging, effective, and visually compelling digital experiences that prioritize usability, accessibility, audience engagement, and brand consistency.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design visually compelling and user-friendly web pages, landing pages, and digital experiences across multiple web properties.
  • Create intuitive layouts, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes focused on usability and audience engagement.
  • Improve user experience (UX) by evaluating user interaction patterns, navigation, hierarchy, accessibility, and conversion pathways.
  • Ensure brand consistency across websites and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the web development team to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Design digital assets including banners, graphics, email visuals, social media graphics, and other web-related creative.
  • Assist the Marketing Design team when needed to design print materials and signage for use on campus.
  • Knowledge of scalable design systems for brand consistency and ease of web development workflow.
  • Basic knowledge of web ADA/accessibility standards and principles.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, design, and web teams on creative initiatives and campaigns.
  • Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly in both verbal and written form.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, project planning, and creative reviews.
  • Accept feedback constructively and contribute positively within a team environment.
  • Provide support to the print design team when needed.
  • Assist with transferring or adapting print campaigns into digital formats
  • Contribute to print layout or production projects.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of website structure, content hierarchy, and page organization.
  • Occasionally work within a Content Management System (CMS) to update and manage content when needed.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand technical limitations and opportunities within web projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated design skills
  • Knowledge of printing process
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Experience in web design
  • Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite & Figma

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative attitude
