Job Summary
The Business Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of business courses in both face-to-face and online formats using the D2L Brightspace learning management system. The position requires effective instruction, student engagement, and timely communication while maintaining accurate academic records. Candidates must possess a master's degree in a qualifying business-related field or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a qualifying discipline. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching online and proficiency with D2L Brightspace. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and instructional skills while supporting student success in business education.
Classes are available on various Roane State campuses.
Job Duties
  • Teach business courses in both in-person and online format using the Learning Management System (LMS) D2L Brightspace.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a qualifying field or master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying field.
Qualifying fields: Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Executive Leadership, Finance, Financial Services, Marketing, Management, Statistics, Business Math, Business Education, Economics, and Sales.
To teach online, must have experience using D2L.
Must be state of TN resident.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge teaching in Brightspace (D2L).
Good communication skills.
Ability to respond in timely manner to students.
Promptness in reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
