Employee works under minimal direct supervision within abroad scope of federal and state regulations, institutional policies and procedures,and professional ethics. Within the limits set by federal regulations, theemployee exercises considerable independence and consistently applies his/herdiscretion to the programs under his/her supervision.

The program requires frequent contact with institutional officers,deans, department heads, faculty, staff, students, and communityagencies/organizations. Must be able to handle multiple, demanding administrativetasks, occasional overtime work (including weekend work) and overnight travelare REQUIRED.

Job Purpose:
Plan and direct Federal TRIO Student Support Servicesprograms and the Childcare Assistance Grant. Oversee the execution of allactivities within each program and grant. Employ, train, supervise, andevaluate subordinates. Facilitate and assess the attainment of pre-determinedobjectives. Ensure compliance with federal contractual agreements and withstate and institutional policies.

Job Functions:
Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the delivery of appropriate support services for students served through Federal Student Support Services Programs and the Childcare Assistance Grant. Maintain confidential files on all students served. 

Develop annual budget requests; monitor and manage budgets totaling more than 400,000 annually; Rewrite contracts with appropriate revisions as needed each annual funding cycle. Determine staffing needs; engage staff with the professional qualifications and commitment to carry out assigned activities and services; ensure professional development opportunities for staff. Supervise immediate subordinates and evaluate them annually. 

Coordinate a comprehensive tutorial service to promote the retention of students served through Student Support Services. Ensure all workshops are provided to students on appropriate topics; develop and implement policies and procedures to support the successful operation of the Student Support Services Program and the Childcare Assistance Grant. 

Coordinate with community agencies and organizations to provide non-grant-funded services for students served through the Federal Student Support Services Program and the Childcare Assistance Grant. Ensure the existence of and coordinate, the Student Support Services Advisory Committee, Schedule meetings and submit reports to the committee regarding the program's activities. 

Prepare monthly management reports on program activities submitted to the Dean of Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP), annual performance reports submitted to the U.S. Department of Education, and grant applications as required. Ensure that departmental inventory is accounted for annually. Perform other related duties as required. 

Assist the Dean of Educational Opportunity Programs in writing grant proposals to secure continued federal funding for the project. 

Develop, coordinate, and evaluate a Summer Bridge Program, as a part of the new grant cycle 2026-2031, for first-time freshmen students in Transitional Studies; work with college administrators, academic deans, department heads, and other faculty and staff to plan and facilitate activities designed to prepare students for the rigors of college and increase their likelihood of success.Â
