Job description

Enrollment Services Assistant

The Enrollment Services department at Middlesex College invites applications for part-time Enrollment Services Assistants at our main Edison Campus and at the College's Perth Amboy and New Brunswick Centers. Please be aware that these are pooled positions. Your completed application will enable hiring officials to contact you at some point in the future if and when a hiring need arises in the future.

SALARY: $20.00 per hour

UNIT: Unaffiliated (Part-time)

DEPARTMENT: Enrollment Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Enrollment Services

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides exemplary frontline customer service while assisting students with enrollment services in multiple functional areas.
  • Enters, verifies, researches student records information in a timely manner, utilizing the College's Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Performs cashiering functions required in the Enrollment Services Department.
  • Utilizes the College's document imaging system for electronic records management and retrieval; completes related scanning and linking tasks as needed.
  • Addresses student inquiries in person, by phone, or via e-mail.
  • Provides assistance to other frontline enrollment services personnel as needed.
  • Attends divisional/department and other meetings as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of customer service experience in an educational environment, social service agency, or in the private business sector
  • Experience in one area of student services, such as admissions, registration, student records, financial aid, academic advising, or testing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment, with demonstrated multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented setting
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment
