Position Summary
The Student Services Officer (SSO) will support the Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) educational mission within Duke University. DGHI offers an undergraduate major and minor, a two-year and accelerated Master of Science of Global Health (MS-GH) degree, plus a graduate certificate and a doctoral scholars program. Global Health students, staff, and faculty are committed to seeking health equity for vulnerable groups and individuals around the world.
The SSO position focuses on undergraduate and graduate student advising, supporting student research, and institutional educational exchange. The SSO position will work alongside other DGHI education staff to support students, staff and faculty, and facilitate administrative processes across all degree programs.

Position Description:
The person in this role has primary responsibilities across the undergraduate Global Health major and minor, the 4+1 Accelerated MSGH program and provides additional support to the MSGH program, the graduate GH certificate and other education program initiatives as needed. Responsibilities include performing various tasks within these programs to support their goals and objectives, including:Program Administration (15%)
Advising and Student Services (75%)
Communications and Marketing (5%)
General (5%)
Minimum Requirements:
Experience
A strong candidate will have previous experience in academic advising or student affairs. A background in global health, international education or experience in an international setting is also preferred.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
