Job description

Student Services Assistant

The Student Services Assistant assists with the activities of the Student Services Department. Assist with promoting and executing activities to enhance the cultural, professional, and educational growth of students. Offer support to both students and administration regarding various interactions throughout the students' university experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communication Management: Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  2. Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations, and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
  3. University Engagement: Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
  4. Special Projects: Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
  5. Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulations, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  6. Assigned Duties: Undertake other assigned duties as required.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the enforcement of regulations and standards found in the University Catalog and Student Handbook, when necessary, among the student body.
  2. Assist with the commencement ceremony for graduating students for all campuses.
  3. Provide recommendations to the Director of Student Services and Campus Dean regarding student feedback with concerns regarding various departments of the university to ensure student satisfaction and resolution.
  4. Encourage student participation and assist in developing the Student Government Association for the campus.
  5. Issue and enforce the usage of student ID cards throughout the campus.
  6. Assist in executing the educational, professional, and cultural activities that enhance student growth and development.
  7. Assist and facilitate the participation of students in various student organizations.
  8. Assist with the implementation of the orientation event for new students.
  9. Assist with the safety plan for students and staff for the campus.
    1. Provide information on the Family Educational Rights, Privacy Act, and the Department of Education Privacy Act rules to students when inquiries arise.
    2. Provides information and support about Title IX.
    3. Provide continuing education information to students.
    4. Maintain graduate students list database for future Alumni Association.
    5. Provide health insurance information to domestic and international students.

Requirements:

  1. Associate or bachelor's degree in education, business, or related field.
  2. One year of administrative, customer service, or student support experience.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  4. Must have customer service experience.
  5. Experience with conflict resolution.
