Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Psychological Science department on the Dahlonega campus. The department of Psychological Sciences is currently seeking Federal Work Study students for work within an interdisciplinary research lab located on the Dahlonega campus. This position will instill the student worker with specific and transferable research skills that will make the student more marketable for graduate school and industry positions.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a work schedule of animal facility cleanings and daily animal checks
  • Maintaining consistent communication with research faculty and fellow student workers regarding the health of the animals and any additional information regarding the work in and maintenance of the animal facility
  • Fulfilling daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as instructed and as required for regular maintenance of the facility
  • Upholding values of honesty, integrity, and diligence in your work; this specifically pertains to the necessity for a worker to adhere to a sense of personal responsibility for the completion of work in the vivarium

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Past experience in animal care taking and husbandry is preferred, but is not necessary; training is required and will be provided prior to start date.
