Company Overview:

Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc. (IYT) is a college access and completion organization focused on increasing the number of young men of color to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. IYT’s vision is a nation where young men of color are overrepresented in higher education, underrepresented in the criminal justice system and are leaders in their communities.  IYT is an organization that serves underrepresented students across the nation. 

Position Overview:

Reporting to a Program Director, the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing student impact, building and sustaining a strong school partnership, and ensuring an impactful experience. This individual has direct accountability for meeting the organization’s bottom line goals in the following areas: academic readiness, GPA, college eligibility, attendance, and student retention. The Program Manager will traditionally oversee 2 school sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Success & College Access

  • Maintain a 25-student mentorship caseload
  • Provide college advising for seniors (if at HS site)
  • Responsible for meeting the program’s annual goals, including GPA, college attendance, program engagement, A-G completion, and retention
  • If placed at a high school site, PMs are responsible for senior/junior college advising (college applications, FAFSA/CADAA, intent to enroll, college decision day and graduation)
  • Directly oversees the implementation of IYT core services which includes quality control on mentorship sessions, academic support, member development workshops, college advising, and college tours
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor

Mentor & Program Team Leadership

  • Directly supervise near-peer mentors placed at their site
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 coaching sessions and review session data and notes
  • Ensure mentors are equipped to deliver IYT’s core mentorship mode

School & Family Engagement Partnership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between IYT and the school site
  • Present and attend quarterly or at least once a semester school staff meetings to report on program progress
  • Engage in biweekly or monthly with school site key stakeholders, including principals, assistant principals, teachers, and other school site staff
  • Manage and build relationships with IYT families through fall family orientation, 1:1 check-ins, quarterly updates, and event outreach

Program Site Operations & Data Management

  • Lead coordination of site logistics: study halls, college field trips, and events
  • Enter and manage student data in Salesforce
  • Track site-level expenses, manage supplies, and submit required reports
  • Maintain and manage the program calendar and site communication

Additional duties as assigned

Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, some weekends, evenings and organization-wide events are required.
Pay Rate:
  • $19.50-$30.25/hr
Benefits:
  • Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life AD&D, Voluntary Life AD&D, EAP and a 403(b) retirement with 3% employer match after one year of employment. We also provide 2 weeks of accrued paid vacation and paid time off for school breaks.  
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm. Some weekends, evenings, and organization-wide events are required.
Work Location & Travel:
  • This position is based on local middle school, high school, or college campuses. Frequent travel between assigned school sites, a valid driver's license, insurance, and vehicle are required. Mileage is reimbursable.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years required working directly with young men of color, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Management experience preferred.
