Summer Student Painter
Position Description
BSU Paint Shop is looking for punctual and assertive individuals who take pride in their work to join our team painting dormitories and various other projects across campus during the summer.
Students interested in this role must be hands on and have the ability to work well with others. At times, you may also need to work individually.
Responsibilities include:
- apply paint, varnish and/or stain to all types of surfaces
- prepare surfaces for painting
- clean and maintain work tools and areas of assignment
- perform related work as required.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 6:30am-3:00pm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Painting experience is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience in drywall repair is a plus
- Ability to multi-task, communicate and organizational skills are preferred
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry objects
- Physical stamina and endurance
- The ability wo work in extreme heat indoors and outdoors.
- Exposure to paint fumes.
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions.
