Job Summary
- Apply current tools and technologies to shoot video and capture photographs based on station needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of ethical principles and work ethic to maintain videography equipment such as cameras, lights, voice recorders, microphones, lenses, etc.
- Understand and apply the principles and laws of freedom of speech and press, as well as receive instruction in and understand the range of systems of freedom of expression around the world
- Think Critically, creatively, and independently to develop content for the website, Youtube, social media, and external outlets
- Critically evaluate own work and that of others for accuracy, fairness, clarity, and style to ensure award worthy quality
- Apply current tools and technologies to maintain library of video assets in an organized manner
- Apply current tools and technologies to assist with station remotes and events
- Develop professional job skills by attending any staff leadership & job skill enhancement training
- Demonstrate professionalism by attending staff meetings and perform functions as deemed appropriate by Operations Manager or Program Director
- Utilize teamwork and leadership to train and mentor staff and volunteers
- Adhere to all Policy and Procedures
- Report any and all violations to GM and OM
Required Qualifications
- All student must have completed one or more of the following courses: In house WIT training program COMM-3352 - Fundamentals of Television Production COMM-3353 - Fundamentals of Film & Video Production COMM-4403 - Photojournalism COMM-4405 - Sound Design COMM-4406 - Digital Cinematography & Image Design COMM-4407 - Film & Video Post-Production COMM-4450 - Broadcast News Writing and Reporting COMM-4452 - Advanced Film and Video Production COMM 4485 - Special Topics (e.g. Sports Communications, Podcasting)
- Must be enrolled at UWG in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a 2.0 GPA
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions
- Frequently moves Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classrooms and events needs
