Job description

Overview
Prepares patients for surgery by performing diagnostic test required by the surgeon and anesthesiologist, documenting past medical/surgical history and current home medications and reporting abnormal results to the appropriate person (surgeon, nurse practitioner, anesthesia evaluator, etc.). The pre-admission RN also prepares patients for the cath lab and other hospital admissions.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Education: BSN preferred. Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current Alabama license required.
Experience: Prefer three years varied clinical experience as RN
Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage situations related to family and visitors, patients of varied ages and needs, physicians and other hospital departments. A positive attitude toward healthcare members and diverse patient populations. Proficient computer skills. Exhibits diplomacy and time management skills. Demonstrates efficiency and organizational skills. Detail oriented. Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
