Job Description
Great Basin College is recruiting for an NSHE Specialist 2 for SIS Operations. SIS Operations is a supporting department within Student Affairs and is responsible for the Student Information System (SIS) - PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, MyGBC, various software applications, and OnBase.
This position is responsible for duties within PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and various reporting, including processing data, troubleshooting high-level foundational tables within the system, supporting and assisting users, and maintaining batch jobs for Student Records. The position also manages and administers the document management system, including institutional file storage, electronic forms, and workflows.
The position participates in committees and meetings at both the GBC and NSHE levels and provides support for the ongoing operations and administration of the systems and applications within SIS Operations.
This position requires:
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and data
- Communicate and explain data extraction and data sources to end users when required
- Assist users by trouble shooting, identifying, and resolving issues
- Desire to learn, explore creative solutions, and a general interest in keeping up to date with the technology industry
- Works well both independently and with a team
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program or service; OR
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four (4) years of experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program or service; OR
- One (1) year of experience as an NSHE Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, MyGBC and OnBase
- Experience and testing Peoplesoft Update Manager (PUM) releases
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; though occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 33
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.

Classified Staff Grant-In-Aid Benefit
Great Basin College is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to Classified employees and their eligible dependents.
