Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Physical Education is recruiting student workers to work as PiSci Leaders. These positions are responsible for PiSci tutoring, a method of academic assistance designed to help students pursuing STEM degrees and careers. Each leader is assigned to a specific class and will hold timely study sessions.
Note: Applicants must have professor recommendation to be considered for this position. See below for additional required qualifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Hold at least 3 study sessions per week
  • Attend class and advertise for your study sessions
  • Model appropriate professional attitudes and behaviors to staff, students and others on and off campus
  • Meet regularly with coordinators and your course's professor
  • Evaluate meeting times to ensure optimal attendance
  • Provide your supervisor with an up-to-date schedule of your work activities
  • Notify supervisor if you are not able to hold a session
  • Assist in implementing an exemplary and comprehensive PiSci tutor program
  • Attend and assist with training
  • Spend at least 1 hour prepping for your study sessions per week
  • Assist with marketing of your sessions
  • Collect data and attendance for all sessions
  • Submit end of semester data that is complete and accurate

Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the Summer
  • English Proficiency
  • Earned an A in the STEM course you are going to PiSci for
  • Must have professor recommendation and an A in the course for which you are going to be a PiSci Leader
  • Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented
