Join the Chula Vista Elementary School District as a School Aide and make a meaningful impact supporting students in a special education classroom environment. This is a great opportunity for compassionate, dependable professionals who are passionate about helping students achieve success both academically and socially.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Weekdays
  • Hours: 32 hours per week or Substituting 
  • Contract Length: 1 Year
  • Start Date: ASAP once cleared
Assignment Details

As a School Aide, you will work in a special needs classroom setting, providing instructional and classroom support alongside the teacher. Responsibilities may include assisting with student supervision, classroom activities, assessments, behavior support, and providing additional academic and developmental assistance as needed.

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements   
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
