JOB SUMMARY

The Office of Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy is seeking two to four motivated student workers (contingent on students' availability per day), funded through Federal Work-Study, to support our office's efforts to engage alumni, parents, and friends of Seton Hall. Students will report to Dorothy Lee but will support projects across the entire office, working closely with additional team members on events, solicitation and student engagement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Data and Database Support (Dorothy)

         Look up and update contact information for alumni affinity groups in the database

         Support data integrity projects, including auditing records, correcting errors, and flagging duplicates

         Assist with data entry for event registrations, RSVPs, and volunteer sign-ups

         Table on behalf of the office at senior class gift and other alumni engagement outreach events on campus

Event Support (Maddie and Dorothy)

         Pack and unpack materials for office events, both on and off campus

         Attend events to help with setup, breakdown, and check-in

         Greet and mingle with alumni, parents, and guests to help create a welcoming experience

         Prepare name tags and manage check-in tables

         Take event photos when needed for use in office communications

General Office Support

         Organize the office supply and event materials closet

         Track and manage inventory of event supplies and giveaway items

         Assist with mailings, folding, stuffing, and preparing materials for distribution

         Provide general administrative support to the team as needed

Solicitation and Student Engagement (Riley)

         Make solicitation and stewardship phone calls to alumni and donors

         Occasionally support events scheduled in the evening or on weekends, based on the event calendar

         Serve as a liaison between the alumni office and the current student body, helping to build awareness of alumni programs among students

         Help identify and recruit fellow students for mentorship, ambassador, or volunteer opportunities

         Provide a verbal update every other month summarizing activities and outcomes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

*FEDERAL WORK STUDY (FWS) ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED**

         Current Seton Hall student with Federal Work-Study eligibility, participating in the RISE program

         Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with alumni, donors, and campus partners

         Comfortable making phone calls and speaking with alumni and donors

         Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented

         Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule, Monday through Thursday, between 8:45 AM and 5:00 PM, with occasional evening or weekend availability for events

        Must have completed courses at SHU, in Sophomore standing or above

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

         Interest in nonprofit work, alumni relations, fundraising, or event planning is a plus, but not required
