Job description

Student Library Worker

Student library workers are responsible for carrying out basic tasks in support of library operations.

Position work hours: 5-30 hours per week

Rate of pay: $20 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Apply circulation policies to assist patrons with the checkout, renewal, and check-in of library materials.
  • Perform end-processing of library physical materials, including labeling and creating book jackets.
  • Staff the library circulation service desk.
  • Refer research and curricular questions to appropriate library faculty.
  • Perform stacks maintenance, including shifting, shelf-reading, general tidying, and search for missing books.
  • Monitor the library space for safety.
Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Reading and higher order thinking skills.
  • Previous library experience preferred.

Federal Work Study eligible undergraduate and graduate students attending Touro University California.
