Job description

STUDENT UNION EVENTS PROGRAMMING ASSISTANT
Salary: $17.90
Department: Student Union
Days/Hours: 10-15 hours/week
Actual hours scheduled vary per week and are available mainly Monday through Friday, with some weekends. Availability must be flexible in order to help attend and organize programmed events. Must be available to work during the summer.
Duties:
For Student Union Programming: help organize student events, conduct basic research for programming, perform data entry, and manage Wellness Wednesday, Noon Tunes, Massage Monday, and the like, all quarter. Must be comfortable outreaching to student organizations and different communities on campus. Contribute to the creative aspect of student programming, like ideation and setup processes; performs general office duties such as typing/word-processing. Works with labor crew to set chairs, tables, and other event equipment in venues for Student Union events. Expected to work through Summer 2026, with the possibility of continuing beyond based on performance and departmental needs.
Requirements:
Requires excellent verbal, creativity, writing, planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates responsibility, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and flexibility. Must be proficient in various web platforms or fast learner. Applies teamwork and communication skills. Able to complete duties in an efficient and thorough manner with little managerial oversight and is a self-starter.
