Job description


Position Summary:
The Career Events & Engagement Coordinator supports student career outcomes in the College of Business by planning, executing, and improving high impact experiences for students to engage with employers, industry professionals, and career-ready experiences.
This is a full-time, 12-month special appointment with annual review for continuation. Historically, the position has been consistently renewed based on funding, business needs, and satisfactory performance.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale and high-impact career engagement programming, including career fairs, networking events, and experiential programs.
  • Provide best practice guidance and operational insight to academic departments, college partners, and student organizations hosting employer-facing or career-ready experiences (e.g., niche career fairs, networking events, industry treks).
  • Support management of event-related workflows and data within Handshake, Salesforce, and uConnect. Track and compile participation and engagement data.
  • Participate as an engaged member in Career Management Center and relevant College and Campus-wide meetings, contributing to collaboration, shared goals, and a positive team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision:
  • This position does not have any supervision responsibilities.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
  • This role may be required to work occasional evening events (ex. career fairs, programs, student organization engagement, or employer engagements).
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Career Management Center will not sponsor a visa for this position now nor in the future.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of experience planning and executing events for internal or external stakeholders.
  • Experience interacting with external partners or clients in professional settings.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in higher education, career services, business, workforce development, or recruiting environments.
  • Experience with Handshake, Salesforce, or similar event management or CRM platforms.
  • Experience with Canva.
  • Experience with student career development, employer engagement, or professional development programming.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and adapting to change.
  • Experience providing guidance or support to partners outside one's immediate team.
  • Commitment to CSU's Principles of Community.
