Assistant Director, Regional Disability Services

The Regional Student Disability Services Assistant Director is a member of the Miller Center for Disability Services leadership team. This position is responsible for implementing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities and leading accessibility initiatives in collaboration with campus partners. The position reports to the Miller Center Director and has a dotted reporting line to the Regional Senior Assistant Dean.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee daily office operations for the Regional campus in partnership with the Miller Center Director.
  • Assist the Miller Center Director with staff training and supervision, develop and implement disability accommodation procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of disability law and accessibility best practices.
  • Serve on university committees and workgroups to promote disability access & inclusion.
  • Provide database administration for the Miller Center electronic case management system AIM (Access Information Management).
  • Oversee administration of accommodated testing upon faculty request.
  • Oversee process to ensure advance planning of accessible course material for students with vision and hearing disabilities.
  • Provide ongoing case management and advocacy for approximately 250–500 registered students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate campus‑wide programming to promote disability access and inclusion.
  • Respond to faculty inquiries regarding procedures and best practices for providing student accommodations and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to engage with diverse individuals in a culturally conscious manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with AIM (Access Information Management).
  • Prior experience working in a college disability service office.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Written, verbal, and interpersonal proficiency.
  • Knowledge of computers and office applications.
  • Knowledge of related state and federal laws (e.g., ADA).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to support all students.
