Job description

Summary of Position

The Student Ministry Campus Director must possess mature Christian character and a strong desire to reach and disciple teenagers. They must have a proven track record of engaging teenagers (and their families) in meaningful relationships and be extraordinarily disciplined in the recruitment, development, and care of volunteers. The Student Ministry Campus Director will also work in tandem with a centralized student ministry support team, collaborating with the central team in creating effective student ministry at the campus and at times, the all-church level.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Preferred experience in student ministry in a multi-site setting
  • History of teaching both middle and high school audiences effectively
  • Comfortable with shepherding, supervising, and communicating with students, parents, and volunteers
  • Passion for student ministry and a teachable spirit and willingness to learn
  • Basic computer skills
  • A member of The Summit Church or willing & able to become a member

Responsibilities

  • Knowing, loving, and shepherding students and parents at their campus
  • Recruiting, mobilizing, equipping, and developing leaders
  • Engaging in the community to open doors for evangelism and outreach
  • Contextualizing and executing Student Ministry ministry programs and events at the campus (small groups, large groups, etc.)
  • Staying up to date and maintaining all Student Ministry programs, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Assistance in the contextualization and execution of Student Ministry ministry events at the all-church level (camps, retreats, etc.) when available
  • Providing ongoing feedback and evaluation of central resourcing when available
  • Misc. tasks as assigned by Campus Pastor or Central Next Gen Team

Churchwide Events

The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.

Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
