Job Description:


Youth Unlimited YFC Southwestern Ontario exists to help young people experience hope and attain their full life potential, showing love and care for their whole person.

The Program Assistant is committed to helping youth develop holistically by assisting in programs and developing relationships that nurture the whole person.


PLEASE NOTE: This job is only available for applicants between the ages of 15 - 30 as per the Service Canada Summer job requirements.


Each Program Assistant is responsible for development in the following areas:

DIRECT YOUTH MINISTRY

  1. Will be involved in the overall satellite operations and programs.
  2. Will weekly participate in satellite youth programs.
  3. Will assist program leaders
  4. Will be involved in the planning and participation of off-site opportunities (i.e. camping, sport outings, concerts, youth events etc.) conducted through the program.


ADMINISTRATION & MEETINGS

  1. Will complete reports - incident reports, suspected abuse report etc.
  2. Will understand and adhere to the current SWOYFC Program Assistant Policy
  3. Will abide by all health and safety & risk management requirements pertaining to the organization.
  4. Will respect the privacy and confidentiality of all information shared
  5. Will complete all screening requirements of a program assistant
  6. Will participate in regular staff meetings.
  7. Will be punctual and notify program leaders if unable to fulfill commitment


PUBLIC RELATIONS

  1. Will project a visible and positive image of the organization in the community.


TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. Will keep compliance requirements up to date
  2. Attend satellite specific training
  3. Participate in development opportunities


SATELLITE FUNDRAISERS

  1. May participate in major fundraising events of the satellite (i.e. banquets, golf tournaments, etc.).
  2. May participate in program and event related fundraising activities for the Satellite.

  1. Will be aware of the mission and beliefs of Youth Unlimited Southwestern Ontario.
  2. Will not undermine the values and purposes of Youth Unlimited YFC Southwestern Ontario.
  3. Will agree to and sign the Behaviour and Engagement Commitment.
  4. Will respect the privacy and confidentiality of all information shared.
  5. Ethical maturity.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills with a professional approach to relationships.
  7. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  8. Proven ability to be a contributing member on a team.
  9. Ability to represent the organization with honour and integrity at all times.
