About the Role

Journey Payroll & HR is looking for an outgoing, dependable Sales Assistant to help us build and strengthen relationships across our network of accounting firm contacts in the Fort Collins, Boulder, and Denver areas.

This role is hands-on and relationship-driven: you'll be the face of Journey to 100 to 150 contacts every month, delivering Journey's monthly marketing flyer along with unique, attention-grabbing items designed to keep Journey top of mind.

This isn't a behind-the-scenes support role. You'll be one of the faces of Journey in the community. You'll have direct interaction with company owners, participate in strategy discussions, and meet regularly with our CEO and other company leaders.

Journey is one of the fastest-growing companies in Colorado, recognized for our culture and innovation. This position offers a real opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sales and business development while working closely with leadership at a company that's making an impact.

This is a part-time position, typically 20 to 30 hours per month making it particularly well suited for a college student or someone looking to gain meaningful business and sales experience while maintaining a flexible schedule.

For someone who excels in the position, there may be opportunities for additional hours and responsibilities. If you're interested in building a career in sales or business development, this role could also provide a path to a larger sales position within Journey. For students pursuing opportunities elsewhere after graduation, strong performers may also earn valuable professional references and recommendations from Journey's leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hand-deliver monthly marketing flyers and a companion gift or standout item to 100 to 150 accounting firm contacts each month
  • Develop genuine relationships with the people you meet and represent Journey in a friendly, professional, and memorable way
  • Help generate appointments for Journey's sales team through your relationship-building efforts
  • Participate in monthly meetings with company ownership and the CEO to review results, share what you're seeing in the market, and contribute to outreach strategy
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with Journey's marketing and sales team regarding activity and feedback from the field

Qualifications

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly (your territory will be around where you live or go to school for convenience)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable initiating friendly, professional conversations with people you don't already know
  • Highly organized and dependable and able to work independently
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Prior sales, customer service, hospitality, or relationship-based experience is a plus but not required
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and coachable
  • College students and candidates early in their careers are encouraged to apply

We'll structure your territory around where you live, work, or attend school whenever possible to minimize unnecessary travel.

What You'll Gain

  • Direct access to and mentorship from Journey's leadership and CEO
  •  Real-world experience in sales, business development, marketing, and relationship management
  • A front-row seat at a company recognized as a top place to work and one of Colorado's fastest-growing businesses
  • Potential for increased hours, responsibilities, and advancement into a larger sales role
  • Flexible, part-time hours that can work well with a college schedule
  • The opportunity to earn strong professional references and recommendations based on your performance
