Position Description

MLKCSE is looking for a BCBA who is passionate about promoting social justice through educational equity - someone who deeply believes that all children can learn and be academically successful with access to a quality education.ย 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a school based behavior analyst, providing consultation and support to students with behavioral, social-emotional, and self-regulation needs in both general and special education settings.
  • Provide coaching, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers regarding effective behavior management practices, de-escalation strategies, and behavioral supports.
  • Support the implementation of school wide behavioral frameworks, including MTSS, Responsive Classroom, and other evidence-based practices that promote positive student behavior and engagement.
  • Conduct classroom and environmental observations and use direct observational data to identify barriers to student success and inform intervention planning.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Design and support classroom wide and individualized behavior support systems that promote student independence, self-regulation, and positive peer interactions.
  • Review and refine behavior intervention plans and support strategies based on student progress, data analysis, and team feedback.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor student outcomes and guide data based decision making.
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute to the development of goals, accommodations, behavior supports, and progress monitoringย 
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, related service providers, and families to ensure consistency of supports across settings.
  • Provide direct modeling and coaching to staff regarding behavior intervention implementation, classroom management practices, and crisis prevention strategies.
  • Assist teams in developing proactive supports for students exhibiting challenging behavior and facilitate problem-solving meetings to identify appropriate interventions.
  • Support behavioral crisis response through modeling interventions, staff coaching, crisis plan development, safety planning, and follow-up with staff and families.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of social-emotional and behavioral programming for individual students, small groups, and classrooms.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Other duties as required

Qualificationsย 

  • Master's Degree
  • BCBA Certification
  • At least 2 years experience as a BCBA

Salary

$60,000 -$70,000

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience as a BCBA in a school setting.ย
