Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant in the Department of Center for Cell Signaling within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
The primary role of the Student Assistant is to conduct laboratory research under the supervision of the principal investigator (PI), The current focus of the Miskolci lab is to understand the metabolic regulation of innate immunity during inflammation and tissue repair. The Student Assistant appointee will work on a project as directed by the PI to study the role of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species in macrophage and neutrophil functions during wound healing using larval zebrafish models of sterile injury.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Perform microinjection, CRISPR-Cas9 screen, PCR, and other molecular assays as directed by the PI.
  • Perform zebrafish experiments.
  • Perform microscopy and image analysis
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records.
  • Perform statistical analyses of research data.
  • Perform other related duties of the research.
