UW Medicine IT Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Student Assistant - Project Portfolio Management Applications Administrator Assistant.
WORK SCHEDULE

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
The ITS Project Management Office (PMO) serves to provide a structured foundation to effectively and efficiently manage incoming and active projects within our portfolio through reusable standards and streamlined processes. Projects include but are not limited to:
  • Epic practice management, revenue cycle, and other business applications
  • Ancillary and clinical support systems
  • Analytics solution and platform for regulatory, quality, clinical, and business reporting
  • Web solution for critical initiatives and the organization's digital communications

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Student Assistant - Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Applications Administrator Assistant will work in the PMO and will be mainly focused on assisting the team with the management of the processes, tools, and data used by our project managers, resource managers, and our PMO to analyze and collectively manage current or proposed projects. The Student Assistant will assist with:
  • Configuring, developing, and maintaining PPM tools and processes to support enterprise PPM standards and best practices
  • Ongoing application support for PPM tools (primary tools used in the support of PPM are MS Planner, SharePoint, Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, ServiceNow)
  • Maintaining existing user guides and training materials and developing new materials as needed
  • Initiatives to mature the processes and tools used for Project Portfolio Management
  • Developing dashboards and reports in Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • Automating and developing workflows using MS Power Apps or other applications
  • Other duties required by PMO

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a current student at the University of Washington; preferably focused on a degree in Business Administration or other related field
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have experience with PowerBI, SmartSheets, Microsoft Office 365 (Power Automate, Power Apps, any of the MS collaboration tools)

DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take direction while also working with minimal supervision
  • A strong desire to learn
