Job description

As a Positive Behavior Support Leader (PBS-L) at Rivermont Schools, you will provide leadership and support to Mental Health Associates and staff to ensure consistent, high-quality behavioral interventions across the school. You will guide teams in implementing positive behavior support strategies, analyzing data, and fostering a safe, therapeutic learning environment for every student.

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least two years of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional disabilities

  • Training or familiarity with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and data-driven intervention practices

  • Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills to guide staff in behavior management

  • Valid Virginia driverโ€™s license

What You'll Do

  • Mentor and coach Mental Health Associates in implementing effective behavior intervention strategies

  • Lead and debrief serious behavior incidents to ensure consistent reporting and response practices

  • Collect, analyze, and share behavioral data to guide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) implementation

  • Support staff training and development in behavior management and crisis intervention techniques

  • Promote a positive, safe, and supportive school culture through proactive leadership and collaboration
