Job description

A St. Mark's Student Teaching Intern supports the instructional and grade level programs under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Division Head. As a contributor to the grade level and divisional team, student teaching interns are collaborative and child-centered professionals.
Duties:
  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by working one-on-one with students or in small groups.
  • Assist in creating an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays and activity/learning centers.
  • Maintain technology skills in keeping with the vision of the school.
  • Supervise lunch and dismissal duty on a regular basis and other supervisory duties as assigned.
  • Participate in and/support community events.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Division Head.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University Education program or related undergraduate or graduate program.
  • A deep desire to educate the whole child.
  • A passion for teaching and learning with a collaborative spirit.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including a range of heat and cold temperatures.
