Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The responsibility of the PT Specialist IV is to direct marketing and publicity efforts for student activities events, rec sports, student organizations and other student engagement initiatives. He or She supports department coordinators with student organizations, campus events and activity center supervision. He or She supports larger department coworkers and provides superior customer service to students. He or She assists the Coordinator with planning and execution of Student Life campus-wide events, including purchasing supplies, initiating contracts and documentation for vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Design signage and promotional items for department and Student Life partnership events
  • Manage Student Life's social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and website
  • Promote Student Life Department at campus wide events
  • Work with other departments and vendors to ensure maximum publicity including Designs-in-print and Media services
  • Maintain summary data feedback regarding events and for traffic in the student activities center
  • Monitor student traffic in the Student Activities Center, including recreational equipment check-out and check-in kiosk
  • Assist all student concerns or inquiries in the department
  • Serve as main purchaser for Office of Student Life including Pcard payment and purchase orders
  • Contacts various vendors for all Student Life events, involves initiating contacts, preparing LSC agreements and required processing needed with system office
  • Serve as main events coordinator including staff and volunteer coordination for student events
  • Communicate daily with Student Life team regarding all issues involved with events to ensure smooth event process
  • Respond to all inquiries via emails, phone and in person regarding Student Life

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
    • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications
    • Ability to prepare and analyze reports
    • Possesses good organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize duties
    • High level of customer service with staff and students
    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
